Popular definitions:
* Software: Written coded commands that tell a computer what tasks to perform. For example, Word, PhotoShop, Picture Easy, and PhotoDeluxe are software programs.
* Freeware: Software which is distributed free by the author. Although it is available for free, the author retains the copyright, which means that it cannot be altered or sold.
* Shareware: Shareware is software that is distributed free on a trial basis with the understanding that the user may need or want to pay for it later.
